Multivitamin With Folic Acid Supplement?
I just found out that I’m pregnant and will be seeing a doctor next week. Before finding out I was taking a multivitamin with 400 mg of folic acid. I picked up a folic acid supplement to take with the multivitamin (another 800 mg of folic). Together that’d be 1200 mg. Would that be too much? What is the max safe amount of folic acid to take?
I’m going to ask my doctor for a prenatal next week that doesn’t have such a high amount of iron, which makes me sick. Or am I able to talk to a pharmacist about that and just get them over the counter?
